Establishing an Equipping Centre

As we continue this journey we are planning to establish an Equipping Centre in Australia.  This is not a Bible College, but a place where people who hunger for more, can find the more in God and what He has for them in life and ministry.  It’s about raising the people of God up to walk in the ‘greater things’ that God has.  The key to this is 1) relationship, as Paul invested in Timothy for example as a father to a son, people need others to relationally walk with them and learn and grow as they walk together and, 2) experience.  It’s not just more head knowledge that we need, but importantly heart knowledge – this is at the core of the New Covenant (Jer.31:31-34).  We want people to experience God and a crucial part of this is walking out what we learn.  We want to see people being ‘doers of the Word’, not just hearers.  This is the essence of equipping – not just sitting and listening, but walking out what we hear.  We see in the world apprenticeships and traineeships, how fruitful will this be when done relationally and being empowered by the Spirit!

We envisage having some core Bible subjects to help build a foundation in one’s life, but having many streams to flow in from there.  These include worship; prophecy; leadership; church planting; business school to name a few.  Not to mention raising up future leaders, pastors and missionaries!!  We would also love to offer internships / traineeships in the future too….

At a local level, we also envisage running workshops that anyone from the community can be a part of.  This works two ways, outreaching as we equip.  Areas include marriage; parenting; budgeting; growing a vegie garden etc…

We are excited about the possibilites and to use the words of our OHM vision, it is a place ’…..where vision never ends’.
